VOCATIONS - RECEIVING THE CALL

Jesus said, "Come and see"

"I wanted a better relationship with the Lord and a life of prayer and community."

"Today I live with women who are responding to their call. This offers me a view of relationships with others who are following the Lord."

The Sisters of the Visitation celebrate 400 years of LIVE † JESUS

vistation stained glassMinistry - Prayer is our call

Our life together in community includes the Liturgy of the Eucharist each day in the Chapel.

We pray the Liturgy of the Hours in choir four times a day.

We have private prayer for one hour in the morning.

In the afternoon, we have private prayer for one half hour and spiritual reading for one half hour.

We have our meals and recreation together.

Our activities carry us into our school to teach or counsel or pray with students.

We also have community duties within the monastery.

Some Sisters have small prayer groups with adults that meet in our monastery for shared prayer.

We support the whole Church by praising God.

We love our life in the Lord!

We identify with Mary and Elizabeth in the mystery of the Visitation of carrying Christ to others in joy and gentle service.

We were founded in 1610 in Annecy France by Francis de Sales and Jane de Chantal who believed that holiness could be found in our everyday normal life experiences.

Our motto, Live Jesus, is an invitation and a goal for us each day to be carried out in our thoughts, words and actions through this window of opportunity.
