Salesian Thoughts for the Week

What does it mean to love God with all one's heart? It means to love God our Father with the totality of our love, subjecting our love for people and things to this love of God. To love God with all one's mind and with all one's thoughts is to keep our intellect occupied in thinking of Him with a pure and simple devotion. To love God with all one's strength is to love Him with a firm love, one that is constant and generous, that never allows itself to be overcome by tribulations but is forever persevering. To love God with one's whole being is to give oneself and to surrender oneself entirely into the care of His Divine Providence so as to remain totally aware of and attuned to His Love.

One thing alone is necessary: it is to love God. In short, no matter what is going on, we must hold both our attention and our Love on God, not wasting our time in studying what is happening to ourselves, or what its cause is. Our Lord asks this of us. Leave the care of your salvation and spiritual life to God Himself along with everything else concerning you. To Him you have sacrificed all; to Him you have given all; so let Him take charge. Amen. May God be blessed!
